Rigler’s triad of gallstone ileus

Rigler’s triad comprises the radiographic findings in gallstone ileus:

  • pneumobilia
  • small-bowel obstruction
  • ectopic gallstone

A case of Bouveret’s syndrome, where a gallstone causes upper GI obstrution by impacting in the gastric outlet/proximal duodenum by passing through a cholecystoduodenal fistula, is illustrated in NEJM.
